Renovations to make a Difference

Sun setting over the Tasman Sea as seen from Breakers, Punakaiki Coastline

Lots of excitement around the b&b at the moment.  We’ve been here seven years and there has always been a little room off the main lounge that we’ve used as a little library.  It’s never really been used to its potential – guests go in to swap books occasionally or to borrow a board game but otherwise it is generally shut up.  It has some of the best views of the sea.  Well……. we decided to get rid of it.  We contemplated making it part of the lounge but again didn’t think it would get enough use so we got the builder in, he assessed the structural implications of removing it and down it came.

Now this is classic – one of those things that once done you think “why didn’t we do that years ago”.  Honestly – what a difference.  As soon as the walls came down we knew we’d made the right decision.  The light coming into the lounge now is fantastic – so much more sun, light and warmth.  As for the views – fantastic.  You can now sit in the lounge, read your book and just admire the wonders of the mighty Tasman Sea.

Sunset on deck chairs at Breakers, West Coast

Once finished it will give us a nice little area where we can sit outside even if it is raining and still take in the fresh air and views as it is completely undercover and now forms part of the front entrance.  We’ve got a lovely park bench to sit in there and some great art work for the walls.  Exciting, exciting, exciting………

Check out the great views of the Tasman Sea at Breakers Boutique Accommodation.  Come share our little slice of paradise.
