Winter beach walks

Ziggy, Nico and Jan having beach time

Is there anything more fun than seeing your dogs happily running on the beach.  Our boys love it.  I’d like to say it is their favourite part of the day – besides breakfast, dinner, bush walks, snuggles on the sofa, snuggles on the bed…….

family fun running on the beach

Nico our dalmatian is generally happy to do his own thing – wander along and sniff at this and sniff at that, fossick merrily amongst the driftwood and the rocks.  You might say he is easily entertained.

When he is in the mood though he can run super fast.

Ziggy, our German short-haired Pointer, he on the other hand wants to be with you – wants you to play with him constantly.  A walk on the beach well that is all about Ziggy.

He is a laugh a minute.  Loves you to throw stones for him and he pretends to chase them – good thing as half the time we pretend to throw them.  He just wants the excuse to run, run, run.  He manages to get the craziest looks on his face – and when you look at some of the photos, he actually looks like a crazy dog!

The boys are great mates, great company and great fun.  We’re beachfront here at Breakers – it is like having our own private beach.  Quite remote so often there is only us down on the beach.  Great way to get us all out of the house on cooler winter days.

Beach time – the boys love it.

Jan and Stephen run Breakers Boutique Accommodation on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth.  Together with their dogs Nico and Ziggy they love to get out and explore the many wonders of the West Coast.  Breakers is beachfront with private beach access.  Check out their website if you’re looking at heading to the West Coast.

I love this! The images are great. I have two German Shepherds and i love it when they can run free on a beach.

Great having two dogs isn’t it – they compliment each other nicely. Our Nico is generally calm whereby Ziggy is often a nutter – hilarious but still a nutter. Happy 4th of July.
