Taking a walk in the bush on the West Coast you could be forgiven for thinking you’d just stepped onto the film set of Jurassic Park.
Many of our forests and trees are from the Jurassic era and taking a walk in the forest you can almost imagine the dinosaurs roaming.
While in South Westland recently we took a walk with our friends – actually on a mountain bike track (I’ve blogged about it – the Fault-line). Sometimes when you are zooming along on your bike, especially on a downhill track you don’t get the opportunity to take a look around you.
This track is awesome – the trees covered in growth – a living community and thriving ecosystem and a wonder to look at.
NZ rain forest, NZ’s Jurassic park – I love it, hope you enjoy walk with us…..
Jan and Stephen run Breakers Boutique Accommodation on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth. They enjoy the outdoors and getting out and above exploring the many wonders that help make up the West Coast. Check out their other blog postings or activities page on their website for things to see and do when you are ready to visit the West Coast of the Southern Alps.
