Great day out at the annual Kumara Races. Huge turnout and lots of fun had by all – be it taking a punt on the horses, catching up with friends or people watching.

Plenty going on but nice to relax and just enjoy the day too.

Enjoyed watching the horses racing – so majestic. Couldn’t help but hold my breath watching them come around the corner each time though. All done it safely which of course they would do but still…..

What a “classic” this race is! Pam’s grand dad used to ride horses there! (he was a well-known jockey on the Westcoast). Personally I always passing the site at the wrong time of the year. From what I understand the races mainly happen in January. Anyway, great to see you all having fun and being among friends and riding fans!

You might have to plan for it one year Michael – I’m sure you and Pam would enjoy yourselves. First time I’ve been in my nine years living here. Next year I want to do either the Westport Trots on Boxing Day or Reefton Trots around 8 January. Fingers crossed…. πŸ™‚
