Ziggy in the rocks Nine Mile beach

We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock

It wasn’t a rock – it was a rock lobster

Rock Lobster, rock lobster

Rock Lobster, rock lobster

in the rocks nine mile beach greymouth

Motion under the ocean, his air hose broke, lots of trouble, lots of bubble.  He was in a jam, he’s in a giant clam

Rock Lobster, rock lobster

(Thanks B52s)

Bit of fun for the end of the week.  Our evening beach walk out onto the rocks saw Ziggy doing some great impersonations of a fisherman.  Not sure what he saw – if anything but he was fixated never-the-less.

Jan and Stephen run Breakers Boutique Accommodation on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth.  Beachfront location with access to Nine Mile Beach and rock pools.  A great place to relax or explore more of the wonderful West Coast of the Southern Alps.

Ziggy, my friend, thanks for showing us that patience is a virtue and a good boy always ends up with the rock lobster.

He was so totally focused – pretty much kept himself amused (and me too for that matter) the entire time we were out on the rocks. Took some convincing to come back in.

  2. G&B says:

Well, you know we’ve got two words to describe him, the first words starts with “g” and the second one is “ball”. But he is such a lovable little tike.

Whats the saying ?? “There’s a fine line between fishing…. and standing on the shore like an idiot” or something like that… love the photos as usual…

  4. Jane says:

Heheh…this made me grin. Dogs can be such characters! I used to have a red kelpie (working dog). When he wasn’t rounding up sheep or chickens, he’d be down at the dam “staring down” dragonflies or willy wagtail birds. He’d spend hours trying to “herd” them. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

Love the Kelpies. Our neighbours have a sheep dog that they occasionally run on the beach and if our boys are down there too, she tries to round them up – it is very funny to watch.
