you and me in paradise

Feeling very blessed – it is times like this that really make you appreciate home

Our gorgeous beachfront location – sea beckoning but when the surf is too strong and the pull for a swim is too great what do we do…….

head to the 10 mile of course – our own little watering hole

Lovely guests visiting from Netherlands and they too were feeling the heat so Stephen took them on a little adventure to the 10 mile valley and down the creek for a swim.

Idyllic location – deep in the river gorge surrounded by native shrubs and trees, the sound of the crashing waves out at sea and the crystal clear waters of the creek bed beckoning – come in come in, come and play with me.

They had a blast – enjoying the fresh waters to help cool them down and getting some great photo opportunities of the crashing surf as it came into the valley. It gave Stephen and I the idea though – picnic lunch by the side of the creek for our time out so that’s what we did the next day.

So close to home and lovely and secluded – feels like a million miles from civilisation.

The boys loved it too – Ziggy doing his usual “fishing” attempts and having some great swims.  Was like having his own personal lap pool.  Been so hot lately we all enjoyed the cool off in the water and it was just nice to take an hour or two and enjoy this beautiful region we live in.

Time to head back home to await our guest arrivals.  ah – another day in paradise.

Jan and Stephen run Breakers Boutique Accommodation on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth.  They love the West Coast and getting out and exploring, making the most of this region, named by Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2014 as one of the top regions to visit in the world.

You should work for the NZ tourism board. I’m ready to book a trip.

ha-ha – thanks Will. Hope you do make it to NZ sometime. We actually had four couples from Chicago in the space of a week just two weeks ago. I mentioned your blog to them – told them all about the adventures of Eko and Penny so you might have some new followers! They were happy to be here in the sunshine when I told them about Penny’s first blizzard and snow experience. 🙂
