A trip to Reefton isn’t complete without a visit to the Reefton skate park.  We love this place – Reefton and the skate park!

On a recent visit we met a lovely young man who has talent to burn when it comes to utilising this facility with his bike.

With a star-lit sky William raced the bowl

and generally put on a star-studded show of tricks.

He had a couple of friends along for the ride

who were just gorgeous and I loved the camaraderie at the end making sure his friend/mentor was ok after his exertion under the stars.

I just hope William is picked up by a talent scout and allowed to flourish.

What a great use for the boundless energy of these young people – well done Reefton for providing this facility. I wonder what the locals from 100 years ago would have thought of it?
