Lake Ianthe as the Sun Sets

Back on the Coast after being away for a couple of weeks and it is great to be home.  Heading down to Franz Josef to pick up the boys and en route we were blessed with a stunning sunset.

Timed to perfection as we passed Lake Ianthe with no wind to give the most fantastic reflections.

Naturally we had to stop and the colours just kept on coming.

Starting out with yellow as the sun went down and then to orange, pink and purple

The conditions were pretty much perfect from the cloud formations, the stillness of the water and the silhouette of the native forest.

and then it was over.  But even after it ended the reflections were still stunning.  Time to hit the road again – we have two doggies waiting for us and we are super keen to see them and get our fill of puppy love, snuggles and much missed smooches 🙂

I tried googling synonyms for “stunning” as that seems to be the main word I think of when I look at your pictures. I wanted something equally as good but different so I don’t bore you! Breathtaking and sensational? How’s that? I love these. 🙂

he does at that – always takes us much longer to get anywhere than most people – but then we appreciate our surroundings and love sharing them 🙂
