The Magic of Night Riding – Point Elizabeth Track

Hard to beat a hot shower after a cold night out on the bike.

We may have picked the coldest night of the year so far but it was totally worth it.

Stephen says there was definitely shrinkage – he started his ride on a 29er and finished on a 26er……

The things we do for a bit of fresh air.

But wow what a great sunset and nothing better really than being out with your best buddy.

Jan and Stephen run Breakers Boutique Accommodation on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth.  They enjoy getting out and about and exploring the region that is the West Coast of the Southern Alps.

Wow, you guys are made of tough stuff! Pretty amazing experience though and I bet it was crystal clear and so quiet! Love the way you’re always looking for a unique experience.

It was pretty cold last night Pam so took a bit of effort to get out there but so worth it especially once the sun had gone down and the colour came through. Warmed up after a while too – hill climb helped! lol

I’ve just realised that I have never been riding at night! After seeing these pics I’ll have to rectify that. Looks a bit tricky and cold but fun as well and of course the sunset was beautiful. Yes, the things you do… 🙂

Jane it is suprising how a track you know like the back of your hand totally changes at night. I love night riding – find the trails easier to ride – possibly because can’t see the drop-offs! Look forward to seeing some pics when you do “rectify” your above statement 🙂
