Craziness of Summer

Don’t you just love the craziness of summer – El Nino we were told for this year

hail storm on vege garden

I’m guessing that hail constitutes El Nino.  This is from last week – huge hail storm in Christchurch – in the middle of December (that is summer in the Southern Hemisphere!)

Then this week record highs for December – Christchurch reaching 36 degrees yesterday.  Wasn’t quite so hot on this side of the divide but a beautiful day nether-the-less and the boys made the most of it with a dip in the creek.

The crazy child was up to his usual antics with flying ears but I particularly like the symmetry of the tail between the ears on the last shot…..

Three sleeps to go and the big red fella comes to visit.  Wishing everyone safe and happy holidays – see you on the other side if not before.
