Charleston Rocks

Seriously Charleston Rocks….. in every way.  Great rocky outcrops and it is a totally cool place – it really rocks!

You could easily drive through Charleston without knowing it is even by the sea.  Apart from a street sign for Princess Street and under it another sign saying “Constant Bay” – doesn’t really tell you much.  Passing through….. take that turn and have a look for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Constant Bay rocks Charleston

Constant Bay is actually four little bays meandering in and out of a fabulous rocky outcrop.  There is a nice picnic/camping area and a walk “loop track” only 15 minutes and it really packs a punch – especially with a big swell.  You’ll get crashing waves and the water spewing up in the air and over the rocks.

Can be quite mesmerizing – particularly if there is a photographer amongst you…… so much to see and constantly changing – perhaps the next swell will be the big one.  And there are blowholes – another hidden gem.

Driving through Charleston it looks like such a small nondescript little village, yet it is so much more if you just take your time and look.  Don’t judge a book by its cover you never know what you might find inside.

This looks such a lovely place to visit… and I was going to ask if Stephen takes 100 photos and then says “wait I want to see the next one”… I do that all the time, and then normally end up missing the real biggie…

  3. How often do you find yourself getting wet because you were so focussed on photographing the perfect wave as it rolls over a rock? 🙂 –Curt
